Ribble Section - Multidisciplinary CBCT Course: Level 1

Lee graduated from the University of Bristol and is recognised by the General Dental Council as a specialist in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. Prior to commencing specialist training he worked in both dental practice and the hospital setting. He gained experience in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology. He completed his specialist training in Liverpool being trained by both Dental and Maxillofacial and ENT/Head and Neck Radiologists. As a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Liverpool he was actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. He works as a Consultant Dental and Maxillofacial Radiologist at Kings College Hospital, London.

Fadi Barrak is registered as a specialist in Oral Surgery and is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI). He is senior lecturer and course lead for the MSc in Clinical Implantology at UCLan where he is responsible for the development and delivery of the curriculum. He completed Dentistry from Bristol University, followed by Medicine from Imperial College, London. Being dually qualified, he is also a Fellow of RCS England and an Affiliate of the RCS Edinburgh, having attained the Diploma in Implant Dentistry.  He is a mentor for the ADI & ITI. Dr Barrak has committed part of his time to primary research at UCLan and Imperial College London where he is undertaking his PhD in relation to the role of biomaterials in peri implantitis.

With over 26 years of experience in the dental industry, James is a seasoned Regional Sales Director at CLARK DENTAL ESL, a leading provider of dental equipment and supplies in the UK. He is responsible for the whole of the UK sales and operations covering Haptics Ai and VR having spent the last two years working closely with Unisim & Virteasy and various AI companies.

Tom is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Restorative dentistry and Honorary Consultant in Prosthodontics. He is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students at the School of Dentistry and is a course lead for the part-time MSc Prosthodontics programme at UCLan. He has been an academic clinician for the last few years and has been involved in teaching and research in the field of restorative dentistry.

Shalini commenced specialist training at King's College London in 2006 obtaining the MClinDent in Endodontology with Distinction and Membership in Restorative Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2009. She is the Endodontic Lead at UCLan and is Course Lead for the MSc Endodontology and MClinDent Endodontology programmes. Shalini was elected as Vice Chair of Central Committee for Dental Educators and Researchers (BDA), a member of the Dental Education Board (RCPSGlasgow), School Ethics Lead and a member of the European Society of Endodontology Clinical Practice Committee. She is the Chairperson of the BDA Ribble Section. Shalini has contributed book chapters to dental textbooks including the 'Principles of Endodontics', ‘CBCT in Endodontics’ and 'Pitt Ford's Problem-Based Learning in Endodontology'. Shalini was awarded the ODRT OHI (PREVISER) Award in 2018 and the TCWhite Young Researcher's Grant in 2019 to support her research into oral biofilm and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Graham has a multi role position that encompasses sales, training to a clinical level, technical support and marketing input through out the UK and Ireland for Dentsply Sirona.

Flavio has long experience in PG and UG Periodontology teaching in different Universities in Italy and in the UK. His main expertise is focused in biology and advanced surgical techniques in Periodontal Regeneration and Soft Tissue management around teeth and implants. He supervises PG Research Projects and Systematic Reviews in the discipline. Flavio has been a keynote speaker to different National and International Conferences in Oral Surgery and Periodontology. He has published more than 19 peer reviewed publications, 2 textbooks and 30 conference acta. He held an Adjunct Professor position in different Italian Universities, a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester, a Professoriate in Periodontology at College of Medicine and Dentistry and is a Visiting Professor at the University of Bari since 2018.

Kate teaches all aspects of undergraduate and postgraduate Oral Surgery and oral diseases. Kate completed her Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (AACOMS) in the Yorkshire region in 2013 and has expertise in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. She has a special interest in managing anxious patients and in the management of medical emergencies in dental practice. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Kate is a member of the Teaching sub-committee of ABAOMS and is President of the Association of Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and has been co-author of a number of leading publications in undergraduate oral surgery education. She is reviewer for the Journal of Oral Surgery and has published extensively on medical emergency management. Kate was awarded the Lady Estelle Wolfson Fellowship (RCS England) and performs a number of College roles. She is an examiner for Membership in Oral Surgery, ISFE Oral Surgery and MOMS (membership in oral and maxillofacial surgery).
